Having recently taken early retirement, I decided to join the big world out side of the office. I joined the U3A (University of the Third Age) to both meet folk and learn new things. Well what do you know. As soon as I mentioned that I work with websites, they asked me to give their site the once over. So I rebuilt it from the ground up using Joomla of course and had it up and running on my server within a few days.

A social media site for the over fifties "Silver Surfer" community. Running since 2009, it has posting discussion boards, photo-sharing galleries and is lots of fun. The forum is built using SMF from www.simplemachines.org an open source Forum Software. I've helped with Technical Support there and built a few modifications for use with the software.

This site was built with Joomla 3.xx. I created the site on my demo server so the client could choose the template and build on that. We transferred the domain to my server early in 2015. I'm pleased to say the client is happy with Joomla and we've worked hard together to get it looking just the way they wanted it.

I was employed there between October 2000 to March 2015. I originally designed the site using Mambo, a forerunner of Joomla then rebuilt it using Joomla 2.5. In 2014, I upgraded this site to Joomla 3.xx. It still looks good so they must have decided to keep it.
